UPDATE: Hello P.E. Friends! Please click on the link above to see some P.E. activities and exercises that you can do at home. We want to try to get an hour of exercise a day to keep our bodies and brains healthy. Contact Mr. Munro or Mrs. Buckalew if you have any questions or even if you just want to say "hello"!
We miss you!

Please use this website as a resource to learn more about our physical education program here at Centennial Elementary. Here you will find recent pictures from class, our P.E. schedule, video tutorials, and much more!

About Our Program:

The goal of our program is to successfully equip each student with the tools they need to lead mentally, emotionally, and physically healthier lives. At the elementary level, it is important for students to experience a wide variety of motor skills. Our aim is to expose students to as many different physical activities and health concepts as possible so that they can develop confidence in their own abilities. With a strong foundation, our students can be champions for their health in the future.

In our classes we promote cooperation over competition and every activity is designed to facilitate maximum participation. This means that lines are essentially eliminated and every student gets their own ball so that they can be moving and learning for the entire class period. Here in Centennial P.E.: diversity is celebrated, questions are welcomed, and effort and cooperative skills are emphasized each day; and perhaps most importantly, we have FUN!

50 Million Strong in 2029:
Here at Centennial, we are commited to the 50 Million Strong movement! "50 Million Strong is a call to action for all of America's health and physical educators to unite and focus on a common purpose — getting all of the nation’s children physically active, enthusiastic and committed to making healthy lifestyle choices. Approximately 50 million students are currently enrolled in America's elementary and secondary schools (grades pre-K to 12). SHAPE America [the national organization for health and physical educators] is leading the effort to ensure that by the time today's kindergartners graduate from high school in 2029, all of America's students will have developed the skills, knowledge, and confidence to enjoy healthy, meaningful physical activity".  - SHAPE America.
